Research and Innovation Monitoring

At its last summit in March, the European Council approved the proposal mede by the Commission in its Cummunication Europe 2020 to keep the 3% target for R&D investments, while "developing an indicator which would reflect R&D and innovation intensity". This additional indicator should prove policy relevant information about the performance of the EU in the innovation area. It should be relevant at EU and Member States levels.
On 21 June 2010 national experts on research and innovaton monitoring discussed on this issue.
