Priorities of the Danish Presidency

The ability to translate knowledge into business is an important factor for promoting growth, employment and competitiveness. The Danish Presidency will work to push forward the negotiations on the next generation of programmes within education, research and innovation. The interconnection between the three areas must be enhanced. In this regard, the higher education institutions play a vital role as suppliers of research, education of highly qualified labour, and transfer of new knowledge to society. Similarly, a strengthening of the vocational education and training programmes must contribute to promoting the knowledge society.
