Outcomes of the Consultation on the Simplification of the EU Research Framework Programmes
created on 19 Mar 2010
The online consultation on simplification was open from July to 30 September 2009. The European Commission has received 294 contributions. Most of the respondents are coming from research organisations. 75% of them have been involved in a FP project. The outcomes focus on three major themes:
1. The need for simplification of the FP structure and related administrative and financial rules,
2. improved access to the programme and user support and
3. tackling the timing issue (faster execution and optimised timing of deadlines).
A Communication of the Commission is being prepared, with the objective of providing the European Parliament and the Council with proposals for simplification. It is scheduled for early spring.
