The European Research Council (ERC) has as its essential task the implementation of the Specific Programme "Ideas", with an overall budget of € 7.51 billion. The ERC consists of an independent Scientific Council supported by a dedicated implementation structure, which took the form of the ERC Executive Agency (ERCEA).
This Annual Report of the Commission, drawn up in co-operation with the ERC Scientific Council and the ERC Executive Agency, presents the Commission's assessment of the ERC's operations and the achievement of its objectives in 2010.
