NIKE (Network Initiative Cultural Heritage) was launched by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science and Research to collect, include, open up, analyse and save stocks of cultural heritage on the highest scientific level. The initiative aims at opening up long-term perspectives to researchers and at contributing to creating coherent scientific standards, in order to build up critical mass and to develop priorities.
