Evaluation of the FP6 OMC-NET Pilot Scheme

The OMC-NET scheme in FP6 was a pilot scheme aiming at strengthening the coordination of research policy and improving the coherence and impact of national and regional policies, while improving public research and its links to industry, fostering private investment in research and strengthening the ability of public support to leverage private research investment.

The Final Report prepared by Technopolis says that projects performed well in terms of delivering the intended reports of good practice and using meetings and other methods to share policy learning within the consortia. It also states that the projects’ achievements were more modest when it came to transferring practices within the consortia, and that their wider impact on others’ policies was rather small.
