A Knowledge Intensive Future for Europe
created on 07 Dec 2009
This is one of new final reports of independent expert groups, forming together a series of three important contributions to the debate on the future of the European research policy in the context of the upcoming "2020 EU strategy" (the "post-2010" successor of the Lisbon strategy).
The report "A knowledge intensive future for Europe", is the report of the Expert Group chaired by Dr. Bjorn von Sydow, president of the Swedish Research Council. Its general objective was to provide reflections on possible orientations and combined policies for promoting a knowledge-intensive economy in the context of the EU 2020 strategy to succeed to the Lisbon Growth and Jobs strategy. It also assesses the impact of the objective of having 3% of European GDP invested in research, as well as for the policies, in particular at Member States level, that should contribute to progress in that direction.
