Proposal for a Council Recommendation on Measures to Combat Neurodegenerative Diseases

The European Commission adopted a proposal on measures to tackle Alzheimer’s disease, dementias and other neurodegenerative diseases. These shared health and social challenges in Europe call for coordinated action to ensure efficient prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care for those affected. European countries are invited to pool their resources and to better coordinate their research efforts in the field of neurodegenerative diseases, and in the field of Alzheimer’s in particular, by Joint Programming. At the same time the Commission published a Communication on Alzheimer's and other dementias.
