National Reform Programme Austria 2013

CREATED ON 06 May 2013

In line with the priorities of the Annual Growth Survey, Austria is pursuing the strategy of growth-friendly consolidation as already introduced in the 2012 National Reform Programme, with a balanced mix of measures on the revenue side as well as the spending side. In this context, policies are designed to promote the expansion of growth potential in addition to fiscal consolidation. Two thirds of the consolidation measures adopted in the Austrian Stability Pact 2012 for the 2012–2016 period are based on spending cuts, while one-third are driven by increases in tax revenues. In the fields of education, research and development, forward-looking investments will strengthen Austria's growth potential, and the proactive measures described in the National Reform Programme 2012 will continue.
