JRC signs research framework agreement with Japan
On 31 May 2017, The European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) and the Japanese National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) signed a Research Framework Agreement (RFA) to boost cooperation and scientific excellence. The agreement was signed at the JRC headquarters in Brussels and opens new avenues for scientific exchange and synergies in the fields of nanotechnology and chemicals, metrology and measurement, and energy, amongst others.The agreement will formalise the cooperation between the JRC and AIST which has been in place for several years.
AIST is one of the largest public research organisations in Japan. It focuses on the creation and application of technologies for industry and society and intends to bridge the gap between technological seeds and commercialisation.
