House of Commons calls for research to become a priority in BREXIT negotiations
The Science and Technology Select Committee of the UK House of Commons has addressed its concerns regarding the UK’s commitment to FP9. According to the committee’s recently published report, greater emphasis should be placed on research and science during the BREXIT negotiations, as the topic is currently lagging behind. It should be negotiated with the same urgency as the security issue. A prompt response to the matter is necessary, since otherwise both sides will suffer considerably, the report says. In this context, the committee also states that the phrase "nothing is agreed until everything is agreed’ should not be agreed to, and calls on the government to take immediate action.
