First exchange of views takes place between ERA Council Forum Austria and Minister Faßmann
At its spring meeting on 12 April 2018, the ERA Council Forum Austria met for its first exchange of views with Austrian Federal Minister for Education, Science and Research, Heinz Faßmann. Among the issues discussed at the meeting were potential areas of advice to the new minister (Mr. Faßmann took office with the new Austrian government in December 2017), e.g. with regard to the next EU Research Framework Programme and its new instruments such as the European Innovation Council (EIC). There was also a first exchange of views on the future of the Austrian STI advisory structure and the implications of the new government programme in the field of research, as well as on the upcoming Austrian EU Council Presidency during the second half of 2018.
The ERA Council Forum Austria is a high-level expert body advising the minister responsible for Science and Research at the interface of European research policy and the national science, research and innovation system. It provides strategic orientation and advice in the context of “Europe 2020“, “Innovation Union”, “ERA Partnership“ as well as the EU Research Framework Programmes.
