Commission launches online consultation on strategic plan 2021-24 for Horizon Europe
On 28 June 2019, the Commission has launched an online consultation as part of the Horizon Europe co-design process on how the programme should be shaped in detail and implemented in practice through the strategic plan 2021-2024. The Commission is preparing the implementation of Horizon Europe in a co-design process which aims at ensuring that the programme is directed towards what matters most, improves the daily lives of European citizens and helps turn big societal challenges such as climate change into innovation opportunities and solutions for a sustainable future.
The strategic planning process was started on the basis of a political agreement on Horizon Europe reached by the European Parliament and Council in April 2019. This process focuses in particular on Horizon Europe’s second pillar 'Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness'. The plan will identify major policy drivers, strategic policy priorities, and targeted impacts to be achieved. It will also identify missions and European Partnerships.
Anyone with an interest in future EU research and innovation priorities is invited to participate in the consultation. The consultation will remain open until 8 September 2019.
