SFIC adopts Strategic Report on Africa
For the last years, the European Union and the African Union have built a solid strategic and political partnership, anchored in reciprocal commitment and based on shared values and interests. The new Commission has placed Africa at the cornerstone of international collaboration. Moreover, Africa is home to the world’s youngest rising population. It holds some of the planet’s most abundant intellectual capacities and has wide-ranging potential for sustainable development.
Reason enough for SFIC to have a closer look at the science, research and innovation activities the Member States, the Associated Countries and the EU are currently engaging in with Africa. The report covers main countries and topics of cooperation, examples of successful collaborative efforts, potential constraints for joint activities and strategic orientations for the future.
