Second Austrian ERA Symposium
The Austrian Ministry of Education, Science and Research, alongside the Ministry for Climate Action and Energy and the Ministry of Labor and Economic Affairs, invites to the second Austrian ERA Symposium 2024: Towards the Next ERA Policy Agenda. The full-day event will take place on November 21 in Vienna and will focus on two crucial themes in the European research landscape: Research Management and Science for Policy.
As research processes grow increasingly complex and the demand for societal and economic impact intensifies, effective Research Management has become essential for our scientific institutions. The symposium will feature two workshops addressing both institutional aspects and specific challenges faced by research managers today.
Additionally, the event will explore the vision for Science for Policy, aiming to establish a robust ecosystem effectively supporting evidence-informed policy making at all levels of the political system and of public administration. In two successive workshops, the status quo of science for policy in Austria and possible ways forward will be discussed.
This symposium is designed for a broad audience, including researchers, entrepreneurs, NGOs, policymakers, and civil society. It will foster discussions among diverse stakeholders, including high-level representatives from the European Commission and guests from across the ERA community. It is part of Austria’s ongoing commitment to the ERA Policy Agenda (2022–2024) and the Austrian National Action Plan for the ERA. The discussions will help shape Austria's strategic role as the policy agenda evolves for 2025–2027.
Visit the ERA Symposium website for more details about the event’s agenda. Participants are asked to register by November 7, 2024.
