ERA meets OECD

The OECD recently published its biennial report on the status and challenges of its member countries' RTI policies (STI Outlook 2025). The objective of the event is to identify the chapters of the STI Outlook 2025 that are particularly relevant for Austria, namely Chapter 4 "How science systems need to adapt to support transformative change" and Chapter 7 "Tools for agility: Actionable strategic intelligence and policy experimentation" and to discuss it with participants. However, the organisers BMFWF and BMIMI want to take this as an opportunity to jointly look at RTI policy within the framework of the OECD and within the framework of the EU and the European Research Area, which have very strong overlaps, and to point out synergies.

The following agenda items are planned:

• Update on the implementation of the ERA Policy Agenda 2025-2027 and the ERA-NAP 2026-2028 • Presentation of the OECD STI Outlook 2025, in particular chapters 4 and 7 with Q&A
• Presentation of the OECD STIP Compass
• Parallel break-out sessions: o STI Outlook 2025 Chapter 4 "How science systems need to adapt to support transformative change" o STI Outlook 2025 Chapter 7 "Tools for agility: Actionable strategic intelligence and policy experimentation"
• Closing plenary with feedback from the break-out sessions and closing panel The meeting will only take place on site. Online participation will not be possible. A complete agenda and further information will be provided in due course.
