Commission launches public survey on new EU Charter of Access for Industry
The European Commission is preparing a Charter of Access for industrial users to research and technology infrastructures, including startups and scaleups. This new Charter will complement the existing Charter for Access to Research Infrastructures.
The initiative recognises that industry needs state-of-the-art facilities, data and expertise to rapidly develop, test, scale and validate new products and services, boosting productivity, quality jobs, talent and investment in Europe. At the same time, research and technology infrastructures benefit from closer cooperation with industrial users, helping them stay at the cutting edge and strengthen their innovation culture.
The Charter is a key element of the EU Startup and Scaleup Strategy and supports the European Strategy on Research and Technology Infrastructures. It is also aligned with the competitiveness compass, aiming at closing the innovation gap, reducing strategic dependencies and enhancing security.
Building on this Charter, the upcoming European Innovation Act will further promote access of innovative companies to these infrastructures through legislative measures.
By responding to this public survey, stakeholders can help define principles that will facilitate and improve industrial access to research and technology infrastructures across Europe.
